I’ve practically worn down my thumbs taking photos of people’s funniest moments.
Being honest, we would sometimes record the TV with our phones and talk to each other about every detail or attempt to show very special scenes by fast-forwarding a lot.
Well, those times have come to an end! It seems Netflix has kindly listened to what we want and introduced the new feature called “Moments.”
And believe me, it makes sharing our favorite Netflix shows a lot easier than before. This isn’t a little change; it marks a big shift in TV streaming, because what makes Netflix special is how you discuss the shows and movies with others.
Being patient, I’m sure you will agree, has paid off now. Many people these days rush to share what they feel in the moment, and half-hour programs are everywhere on social media, so it is strange that Netflix did not add a share button.
Back then, YouTube allowed clips to be shared widely, but that wasn’t the case with Netflix. However, that will no longer be the case. Nowadays, you can pick out and share the parts of certain movies that make you feel any kind of strong emotion.
1. What Do Netflix “Moments” Mean?
In short, “Moments” helps you save a specific part from any Netflix film or TV series. It is important to understand that this feature does not send you a video; instead, it functions more like an incredibly smart bookmark.
Sharing a moment means sending a link that lets another Netflix user go straight to your chosen moment in the program. That is so amazing!
Back then, Netflix handled things considerably differently. For many years, attempting to screenshot or record Netflix shows resulted in a black screen.
While the content was protected, sharing those catchy scenes became impossible. Now, they discovered a way to protect their content and still allow fans to share movies. In my opinion, everyone benefits from this.
2. What Is the Best Way to Collect and Share Your Exciting Experiences?
What makes it the best? It is very straightforward. With this feature included in its mobile app, Netflix makes it very simple to watch on the go.
Here are the details on using it: You require an iOS or Android phone, as it is not available on ad-supported plans.
Access the App: You can launch the Netflix app by tapping it on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
Select a movie or show: Play any movie or TV show to grab a scene.
Tap “Moments.” From there, tap the screen again when you find a scene you want to save, and the playback controls will appear. In the bottom-left corner, you will notice a new button called “Moments.” Tap it!
Keep Your Place: Netflix will specifically record the location where you finished playing. After that, you’ll notice a way to save it. This method places it in a special area in the “My Netflix” section.
Share Away! After downloading, you have the option to straightaway share what you’ve filmed.
You’ll notice that there’s a paper airplane icon to help you share. Pressing on that will open a menu of choices for you.
You can also send your event straight to Instagram, Facebook, X, WhatsApp, or Messenger.
Share the link in any other place where you wish to post it.
If you want to save an event that just took place, press the “Moments” button a bit after the most exciting bit. This feature very often records a short time up to the moment of your click, letting you edit your movie a little differently. After I perfect a scene, my worries vanish just like morning fog disappears.
3. Is Your Log Recorded on Your Phone or Elsewhere?
You won’t lose your memorable shots from your epic car rides. The “My Netflix” menu places all your “Moments” in a special section.
To gain access to nutrients:
Select the “My Netflix” option from the home screen on the Netflix app.
At the bottom, there is a section called “Moments you’ve saved.”
Connect your TV to your phone, and you’ll have instant access to each time you saved Moments. If you wish, you can experience it again, share it, or erase it if it doesn’t make you smile.

Think of a charming feature from a new program becoming a viral hit—that immediately makes many people search for its title. I feel that I have to watch this.” Netflix expects that the quick releases will attract more subscribers.
Unique Discovery: One scene may be enough to make a show stand out. That way, we can highlight periods that affected us, which are generally more meaningful than something made by a professional team.
In the past, Netflix tested features that encouraged users to share films but then stopped after launching Netflix Friends; now, “Moments” is a calmer way to connect over what you’re both watching. It focuses on the content being shared by the community and what they highlight from it.
In the past, if you came across an interesting design or great cinematography on screens, there was no easy way to share it.
You can now save and share the visual features I mentioned, building interest and enjoyment for the shows. Solar panels? You can see them as the superheroes who protect your roof. This feature is the highlight of sharing on Netflix!
5. Remembering a Few Things
Although the song “Moments” is impressive, it’s important to note a few points.
As stated earlier, the ad-skipping feature is unavailable for any Netflix users subscribed to an ad-supported tier. Upgrading to a standard or premium ad-free plan will allow you to use “Moments.” This option won’t make those on a budget happy, but it does make sense for Netflix since they started charging for ads.
When you share a “Moment,” the recipient must also be a Netflix subscriber to watch the clip. It does not create a separate file; it provides you with access to the movie through Netflix.
Excellent, if you’re excited by watching it, your fellow subscribers will love it as well, though it won’t appeal to the general public.
For now, you can only use the “Moments” feature in the Netflix app for iPhone and Android. Currently, there has been no confirmation regarding the availability of the “Moments” feature on desktops or smart TV devices.
You can’t choose your “Moment’s” start and end time. It focuses on an area around where you tap that you have specified. Yet, for users who like to manage their clips in more detail, this could get annoying.
Social streaming has the potential to become a significant trend in the future
Netflix is making it clear that it wants people to watch with friends and family by introducing this new “Moments” feature.
Since people use social media to discuss, enjoy, and create, allowing us to share easy snippets of their huge collection only makes sense.
